Hello fellow "nuts"

I'm just back from a short break, so I will post the message received from Tessa below. If I can get more infor I will let you know.

Hi Bob

As well as the controversial CURSE OF COMEDY series going out in March on BBC FOUR, they are also supposed to be broadcasting Steptoe and Son Series 1, and Mark Lawson Talks To Ray Galton & Alan Simpson on that channel. Ray & Alan have also written a piece for this month's Times.

Best wishes

Curse of Steptoe - March 10

Postby tniah » Tue Mar 04, 2008 6:35 am

Hi there, I'm a Yank in love with Steptoe as well. I have not seen nearly all of the episodes, but loved it right off the bat. I knew about it for a long time, and had heard about the connection with Sanford and Son in the US for years, but only recently with the advent of YouTube, Veoh, etc. have been able to actually see it, or some of it.

Get this, I grew up in a junk yard. My Granddad and my father ran a junkyard together all of my childhood and although we had cars, etc., parts of it were just like the set on the show, with all kinds of oddball stuff everywhere. So I guess I have a special place for junk, or rag and bone as it is called in the UK.

I don't guess there is any way for a Yank to see the special coming on next week, but if you think of anything let me know. I also love OFAH, but I have to say, I like Steptoe better. There's just something more earthy about it.

See you later.

Welcome to the board Hercules.

Like you I am becoming concerned about the marketing of this show. Apparently Ray and Alan have seen it and are happy with it.

Just to let you know I think you may have mis-typed your email address when joining the forum. No problem, but you will not receive any private messages.
