Hello everyone, I have just joined this forum due to being a huge fan of S&S. I missed 'The Curse Of Steptoe' when it was broadcast and was wondering if there was anwhere to get a DVD-R of the show. I have a DVD-r of Only Fools And Horses which has the Royal Variety Performance and other odds and sods from TV. I would love an equivelant that would have interviews etc of S&S. Can anyone help me find this.

Hello John

Welcome to the forum.

I recorded the Curse programme I am really busy at present, but I will see if I can copy it some how.

If anybody does it first I would be grateful.

Funny someone should mention the Only Fools DVD which has rare stuff, I have been thinking of putting together a DVD of Steptoe odds and sods, especially as a lot of the performances are public domain now and only writers' fees need be paid, or even a bootleg for the fan circuit...

I was thinking... Royal Variey, Ken Dodd sketch, Kenco Ad, Movie Trailers, and any other odds and sods. Would make an interesting release.

We can only assume that the BBC will not be doing so, otherwise this footage would have been included elsewhere by now.

Is there enough interest for such a dvd / dvd-r??

I have the editing / authoring knowledge, perhaps a great Steptonian, someone with more knowledge, is interested in discussing working on it... If anyone in the 'know' is then let me know...

Hi Bob

Hope you enjoyed bognor. Did you see the bogs we see Albert come out of? Are they still there??

If you want to chat about the DVD idea, feel free to send me an email therealcharro@live.co.uk I am a professional editor so if we could put somethin non-profit making together for the fans I'd happily give up my time and knowledge for it - if we can surce the material that is.

Well what do we have then?? If people can provide the footage, I will make the DVD!!

I have the Ken Dodd sketch and I have recently remastered it (better than how it looks on youtube, thats from the original DVD).

Does anyone have any of the Buck PalacE footage they could provide???

Hey Phil

I've not got much and certainly nothing rare like you're looking for:
Rattle of a Simple Man, The Curse of Steptoe, Tales of the Unexpected: The Moles, Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins: Lust
(all .avi)

Wish I had more...but only been collecting since April.

Hi Phil,
I have this, and loads more... I'd prefer a chat over the phone, however, especially as I type all day... Send me a P.M. (not Gordon Brown), and I'll let you have my tel #...

Done!! Don't worry, Pixel, I wouldn't send you our P.M. - No-one deserves that!! Though he does have a tendancy of turning up without being asked... hmmm I'll leave the politics aside lol.

Sent you a pm. Hope we can chat! Anyone else who can help out with footage etc, ANYTHING Steptoe related, let me know!
Phil

Phil, haven't received it yet, your P.M.... Although I look forward to it...

Not sure it's working, though... So might be an idea, to look under my 'profile' and use the email address there, instead...
