BBC Television Centre (sold for £200 million to sort a "shortfall")* is being turned into a hotel.
The new owners (no not you, though you paid for it) are already producing adverts apparently.
So now Television Centre, a Heritage site, is becoming a posh hotel. What's next? Stonehenge steak house?
*Shortfall being a convenient term meaning mismanagement.

It's a sad day. :( Loved the recent Documentary about it's history of the building too. Just think the classics series filmed there and the amounts of greats who've walked them corridors. It's closeur on a part of TV history which will and can never be replaced. :)

A lot of people are criticised/villified for living in the past but the way things were is a hell of a lot better than now

I agree 100 groat. Personally I've never stopped having a shaggy cut or wearing flares & Kipper ties in the hope that what goes around comes around. I'm the talk of the town and cars slow down to amire me as I go by in my nine inch heels akin to Dave Hill of Slade. Council's also happy as I strut my stuff I sweep the gutters clean with my flares saving pounds as I glide along. I've also been ask to trap the seagulls with my chest hair too which I'm currently considering. 8)

Now that is an alarming image. Mustn't forget the porn star mustache, lapels so wide they reach the shoulders and absurd shirt collars splayed over the jacket. Blindingly garish pastels and every stitch the itchiest polyester. I've got vintage 70's video of a fella actually dressed like that, reading the news on telly

So you've met my brother then. :P

There's nothing like looking cool, wind blowing through your chest hair seeing your public parting like the dead sea on bar mitzvah night. Well they seperate largely due to fear but It's a sight to be savoured. :D

All that mad 70's gear makes ye wonder...what were people thinking??
A polyester clown suit, just the thing to wear. Down the football club.
Get arrested for clothing likely to cause an affray. Or auto collision.
Contemporary fashions are equally preposterous really.
Knee length pants? What's the point of half a pair of trousers?
Take them back to the shop, they cheated you

Or open a charity shop :)
All retro clothiers, the uncharitable charity shop.
"How do I look in this?"
"A right prat."
