Cheers Nobby . Cleese and Chapman are frequently lauded for their military characters, but Palin really nailed it that time, spot on. And if we expand the subject to absurd authority figures, his Pontius Pilate (Life of Brian) is perfection itself. I’d completely forgotten Phil Silvers and Sean Connery, well spotted!
I’ll wager that’s the only time Connery has played a ventriloquist .

I love Windsor Davies me. Here's a good film to see him in all his comedy glory besides the obvious. Ever seen Grand Slam? It's a film made in I think 1977 and featured a group of boozy Welsh rugby supporters travelling to Paris to see Wales v France. It features loads of famous Welsh actors/actresses such as Windsor, oscar winner Hugh Griffith of Ben Hur & Bargee fame, also it included actual Welsh Rugby international players such as Phil Bennett , Gareth Edwards, JJ Williams, JPR Williams, the list goes on. Anyway, its absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, watch it, it's all flares and kipper ties & collars but the humour is brilliant. Watch our for hairdresser/rugby nut extraordinaire Maldwyn. What a character he is. He could tackle you, sidestep a on a razor blade, then give you a blow dry in seconds with optional tint of summer gold.

A funny part ,besides Maldwyn's attempt to share a bed in the hotel room with Glyn on their arrival in Paris, was the bar fight scene in which for some reason a boozy Windsor is prancing about with a pair of tights on his head trousers around his ankles sticking his bum out like max Wall, when the locals got a bit shirty, then one insults Phil Bennett, and holy hell kicks off. We see him then locked up in the nick on match day lol. Ahhh.... Those were the days of a pint, a punch up, then home for some chips and faggots!

Aint Half was a great show I have a DVD with the 6 final episodes. My fave has to be the one where 'Gloria' was hit on the head by a coconut and becomes brave "You poofs I'll never wear women's clothing again"

Concussed by coconut! Throw in a bunch of bananas, a pineapple, a guava or two and there you have it.
Carmen Miranda . Or a fruit salad . Another hilarious bit from the final episodes, to get 'The Last Warrior' to surrender, they do an excerpt from ‘The Mikado’ in full kabuki drag. Slap like they collided with a lorry full of ladies cosmetics, “...Three little maids from school are we...filled to the brim with girlish glee...”.
Although in this instance, "ghee" would've been more suitable than "glee", funnier too .
