How come nobody's mentioned:

The Likely Lads and Whatever Happened to...

They would need to be in my top ten, along with Sgt Bilko, The League of Gentlemen, Some Mothers, Dad's Army, Sykes, Reggie Perrin, Friends and Curby.

What about a list of those comedies that you reckon should NOT feature in a top ten? That would be quite revealing!

10 favourites of mine are (in no particular order), Steptoe and Son, Blackadder, Bottom, The Young Ones, Filthy Rich and Catflap, Hancock's Half Hour, Monty Python, One Foot in the Grave, Some Mothers Do Ave Em, Red Dwarf.

With the last one, Red Dwarf, i always liked the pairing of Lister and Rimmer, so wildly different yet bound by circumstance and forced to tolerate each other, not a million miles from Steptoe really. Totally a comedy first and foremost, only being sci-fi secondary.

my top 10 1 steptoe and son 2. dads army 3.on the buses 4.hi di hi 5. insicknessand in heath 6. porrage 7.george and mildred 8.man about the hose 9. hancocks half hour 10. it ant half hot mum others i lkie are are you being serverd allo allo please sir you rang me lord. open all hours keeping up appearances nick.
not the vicar again hes had two bob of me this year already.
