I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and would love to know what you all up to.

My dog died yesterday at the age of 12 from a stroke and as you know if you have or had pets they became part of the family and its very hard to say goodbye to them,i cant really say ive got over it yet as it was only yesterday but i know like everything in life it gets better in time.

Anyway guys hope your all ok and make sure you come back to me on here lol .

Hi Rian

Sorry to hear about the Dog. I got my first dog 5 years ago and he really has become one on the family, I can't even think about life without him. I do know that I wouldn't have missed it for the world and the memories will always be with me.

Mind you Albert didn't think he would get over losing Hercules !!

Regards

Bob

Hey Rian

Sorry to hear about your dog. It's incredible just how attached you get to a pet - and the longer they are with you the harder it can become as they've seemingly always been there.

I don't think you can ever get "over" something like that - what emerges is a new way of coping. Getting another pet for you to channel that emotion and love can help.

I lost my little Jack Russell - Bart - ten years ago. She was 16.
For months afterwards I kept seeing her out of the corner of my eye in the house. She was everywhere.
I still miss her.
Who did she think she was?

My mother had to put Wee Max the yorkie down last year. The dog was 12 years old and had many medical problems .

We both cried for 2 days it was awful

Bob,

You're forgetting, Hercules was a magic horse. He came back to life remember and then was put out to rest in a field...

Just trying to lighten things up... I too have been there, twice!! The last one was a labrador we rescued from someone who used her as a punchbag and she was really funny, she had a bone concaved in next to ehr eye, an ear infection which meant she always had her head on an angle and a permamnt cough because of a throat problem... mind you, the cough got better and worse depending if she wanted attention... still think about that dog.

She had a stroke while under PDSA care (which they hushed up and we only found out about by accident) then had another bout a yr later and needed to be put down.

Before that, my family had a collie / alsatian cross, lived 18 years. Ate what we ate, great dog!!

Anyway, back to work...

Its a pity we can't have a magic Harry and Willy.

I've got 2 cats as well Rian. Contact the RSPCA and Cats Protection to see if your cat has been handed in.
Let us know if you get it back !
