Nuts In May - tonight

Postby Archie » Tue Jul 20, 2010 4:28 pm

The hilarious 70's play Nuts In May is on tonight @ 10 on BBC4.
It follows the camping holiday of a couple of eccentrics, I have the DVD and I must have watched it a dozen times - the fight scene is especially funny.

If you aint seen it you are in for a real treat :D :D

I think Mike Leigh is a great film maker. His approach is unique, using improvisation to develop the characters and stories. In my opinion he has produced some of the best british television and cinema.

I met him once - he was an arsehole. lol

Bloody talented though!

"Arseholes I have met"

Nuts in May? And it's only March!
Arseholes I have met. It’s strange, but in contrast I’ve met a lot of famous people, as one does over a lifetime.
Got to know some, but I don’t recall any of them being rude or behaving badly. One autograph I desperately wish I still had, an 8 x 10 glossy from Mike Mazurki. A nicer fella you’d never hope to meet, once a famous wrestler, he became an actor. Some will remember him from “It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World”, he’s the hitchhiker Phil Silvers picks up in the desert: “Don’t force me to get rough!!! ...oh, sorry I busted your car.”
