Few things funnier than lederhosen, which might seem strange coming from an old school mountaineer.
These days climbers wear skin tight glow-in-the-dark lycra, which is worse.
Hope the wife doesn’t read this :shock:.

I would have refused that job outright. I know a fiver went a lot farther in those days, plus whatever they could get for the piano, but it still wasn't worth it. The logical thing to have done was hire a crane and lower it down through the windows. Not only would they have had to get it out the door of the flat, they would had to have navigated it down the stairwells as it is doubtful the elevator in that building was big enough for it. Too much trouble for the work involved.

They could also have hired a tip, set it under the window and just pushed it out the window into it. :mrgreen:
I thought we'd nick a wreath off one of the graves as we went in.
