All Gas and Gaiters (S01E04) The Bishop Sees a Ghost (BBC) 21-02-1967 (Restored VidFIRE[D]

Sure some of you, will be familiar with this series.

What they (the BBC) had left in the archives (unfortunately for us, that was less than half of those that were made), was released as a two DVD set several years ago (by an independent).

For me, this is/was a great series (one of those Sunday late-afternoon / early-evening cosy comedies), that from what I've read in recent years, is remembered rather fondly by those that saw it when originally broadcast.

Although I was (just) old enough, I never had the pleasure of seeing (or indeed, have any memory of), the series when it first went out.

I am glad now, though, to have (eventually) had the pleasure (and it's been a fav of mine for several years, now). Luckily, all of the episodes from the BBC radio series, which was adapted from the BBC TV series (one episode of which we have here), is out there - if you know where to look (no thanks to the BBC, though), and I often listen to those - they're great!

The main video file is archived across 10 WinRAR files. I've put this sort of thing up here in the past, so hopefully most will be familiar, and thus be able to view the file...

This, as-per-usual, for my files/uploads, needs to be watched back on something that'll display interlaced video, or one of the main reasons for the restoration (the VidFIRE), will be lost.

See below, for more details on what you need to do...:

If you're not going to watch this back on a proper CRT TV (remember those...), then use the following media player and settings:

VLC media player is an ideal candidate, if you plan to watch this back on an LCD or LED flat screen computer monitor.

Available here for Windows:

Or here for Mac OS X:

Once installed, and the video is playing back, hit Pause, then go up to the Menu > Video and change the following two default settings:

1. Video > Deinterlace > On
2. Video > Deinterlace mode > Linear or Yadif (2x)

Once those are set, then hit Play...
