What do you drive ?

Postby Archie » Thu Oct 27, 2011 5:20 pm

I like this new thread :o

I am a lifelong car nut and often spend money I cannot afford on cars, accessories etc

My latest money pit is a 99 Jaguar S Type V8 4 litre 8)
Any other car nuts out there ?

At the moment the only thing I drive is people mad!! :?

I have had a succession of cheap crap cars and loved them all. My first ever was when I was 17 i paid £150 for an old Proton. Her name was Cheryl. It was brilliant but the bodywork kept falling apart - the window even just fell out!!

A few days after I bought it, in a car park some geezer offered me £500 for it, as he couldn't get parts for his. I said no, it was my first car. These days I'd just go for the quick profit!!

The most I have ever paid was... £350 for an old Nissan primara. BEST CAR EVER - I got it up to 170000 on the clock, then lent it to my Dad who towed something he shouldnt have (or tried to) and damaged the underside, so it wasnt worth repairing. The best thing was, it COULDN'T run out of petrol, and I was skint at the time. When it read EMPTY and the needle had just flopped down in depair, I still got £20 worth of driving out of it, I know because when I filled it up it took £20 to get the need UP to the EMPTY mark! Best car ever.

I drive a bicycle, and I'm very fortunate to have one.
If I had the money, I wouldn't buy a car.
I wouldn't invest in precious metals.
I'd buy a rickshaw.

My wife has some health issues so bought a Kia Sedona. Nice to drive but a bit thirsty. There again it is a 2.9 diesel. My 14 year old daughter watches Steptoe and On The Buses on the DVD player in the back. Bit different to my Moto Guzzi!!!

Yeah DOY even the handbook warns you to be careful on corners, mine has a 3" lift and off road tyres so it is interesting in the wet  I used to have a 4 Litre Grand Cherokee so I'm pretty used to Jeeps.

To post pics - set up a Free account on Photobucket. Sort out your pics - if you intend to share them on forums etc tick the downsize to 680 - option.

When you see your pictures copy and paste the whole - img box under your picture ( not just the img) when you past delete the img at each end of your pic

Paste the whole img directly on to the posting - it should work :o

Keep signed in to Photobucket when you post your pictures - otherwise they wont show up !
