It’s a beauty Archie, drive it safely and in good health :) If I lived that close to the loch, with the polar ice caps melting, I’d install a snorkel to prevent engine flooding. A wise investment. But ye gotta wonder.....
When did thinking in the Range Rover advertising department short circuit? Did they temporarily suspend rational thought or deliberately chuck it overboard?
P38.....that’s a nazi handgun, carried by the the wehrmacht. Why not just call it a luger?
“Boss, I got it! We’ll call our new auto....The Luger.”
“Nah, we’re looking for something with less name recognition.”
“How about....The P38?”
“Brilliant!” :?

Jaguar started out in the early thirties making motorbike sidecars, known as the Swallow Sidecar company, then began manufacturing motor cars fitted with Austin engines.
They changed their name to SS Motors (for Swallow Sidecars).

They had to change the name to Jaguar after the war for obvious reasons.

So the sidecar-motorcycle that carries Albert and Harold to Heathrow (on their way to an unplanned visit to a French nick)...was that a Swallow design? Have you ever rode in one? Gotta admit, they’re a bit dodgy, rather like luge competitions. Or Harold on his "practice piste." :o

My brother phoned me yesterday with the news that the Black XJ8 I sold him a few months ago was written off :(

It was parked outside his workplace in Stoke (where Albert's sister lived) a woman ran into it wrecking the car!.

By sheer chance there was another XJ8 on E Bay locally with 10 months MOT - but a noisy timing chain. I won the auction and got the car for a few hundred notes. See pic.
If the insurance company sell him the write off he can change the engines round. He has an engine lifter and all the tools down in Stoke.

Yet another motor  not a Jag this time but a little Mercedes C180 Coupe KOMPRESSOR (Supercharged)
I was after a sporty car - I've got that blokes in their 50's thing going on !. A nearby dealer had it for sale, good nick, no faults, long MOT. I'll still be keeping the big Jag saloon.

Just bought another Jag - since I got the insurance pay out I've been spending money like a drunken sailor, chronograph, gold necklace

This is an 04 X350 4.2 litre V8, all the toys satnav touchscreen, heated front and rear seats - which will please the dreaded Westie.
