It's claimed that Leonard Rossiter was in the area and although not the abuser somehow becomes a target of the media not the said disgusting abuser who still hasn't been brought to justice whilst the victim suffers mental torture . As usual media/press rumourmongers stirring up bad press for an innocent man dead for nearly 30yrs who's unable to defend himself. Sad really.

It makes you wonder why they even bother to investigate people who have been dead for so long and can never be brought to trial. Maybe they hope the Doctor will drop in one day and use the TARDIS to transport the evidence back to the past where it can still be used to get a conviction.

The ones who were the real abuses like Saville and co are dead and have escaped justice. Just because someone was in the same location as a suspected abuser doesn't mean they are culpable for the crime committed by others. A lot of dirt comes out of the woodwork especially regarding Leonard's alleged extra marital affairs, and seeing his poor wife and family had to witness all their private life in the tabloids especially seeing Leonard was unable to defend himself, his character more importantly his family. Very sad. :|

This whole thing is getting out of hand.

All abusers should be brought to justice regardless of how long ago, if they are still alive.

If someone is deceased I think it is still important for the victim that the person is exposed.

However, it is too easy to be able to slander a dead person. What they seem to forget about, or care about, is that these people still have families who are living and can be hurt by such allegations. Perhaps the law needs to be extended to cover slander against the deceased for a certain amount of years.

It is also easy to have a rosey view about someone you hold in high respect. Anyone can be a potential abuser, be it the tramp in the street or the king. The only people who know the truth were those who were there at the time.

Phil, you're right in what you say regarding having rosetinted views of actors/actresses. How many have eluded conviction because they surrounded themselves with the great & good which gave them a protective barrier and green to proceed with their evil ways. Also the besotted fan, who cannot accept that their idol could do such a thing. So they protect them even though the evidence is watertight regarding their abuse of children.

Besides the obvious harm to the poor children, damaged was also done to countless childhood memories, which are now is ruined. For example Jimmy Saville's Jim'll Fix it & Top of the Pops shows, Rolf Harris Art/TV shows, Stuart Hall's "It's the Knock Out series" and episodes numerous shows that feature them in such as the classic Goodies series which they appear which will never be shown or held in the same regard by ones who initially loved the them seeing what they've done and been convicted of. Very sad affair all round I think. :|
