Cheers gents, and sorry about your father Archie, that's rough.
I was exceptionally lucky, by mere coincidence my surgeons happened to be among the best in the country, and the first of many nurses to look after me was absolutely brilliant. This fella didn't just know his profession backwards and forwards, he also had amazing communication skills, sense of humour and a profound understanding of human nature (which made some of the characters that followed him stand out in stark, grim contrast). Nonetheless the experience was an utter nightmare driven by concern for my cat and compounded by a deep seated horror of hypodermics. But ye try to stay positive, tell jokes whenever possible. There were parallels with Steptoe scenarios on a daily basis, well beyond the chest x-rays (TB or Not TB). For example, the above mentioned nurse was helping me settle in after surgery and I quickly realized without trying that a bedpan was right out, and I told him so (Upstairs Downstairs Upstairs Downstairs). He said no worries, they'd bring in a kind of tub. I asked if it was tin (The Bath). He explained it was more of a commode. I asked if it had three feathers on it.
Unfortunately none of the dozens of people I spoke to had ever heard of Steptoe, so he probably thought I was a bit slap happy from the pain medications. 8)

Hi Yank

My inbox has been getting lonely... good to see you back mate, you can't keep a good man down!

Will work on T3F soon... I am working on a page on my site for The Steptoe Rag subscriptions so I am a bit occupied (having started a new job for Hitler and Co. ). Watch this space...

"65 Today" submitted (no further edits, promise Bob!)
Will start on "Siege..." soon.

Thanks Phil. Though staying in this embodiment long enough to protect my cat is my primary concern, it woulda been a drag to check out before seeing your Steptoe Rag :)

Thank you DOY and to everybody who has supported this appeal.

My goal of having every epiosode properly reviewd by Christmas, is really achievable. It also proves that this website is a community project rather than just one persons opinion.

Don't be shy submit a review and see your text published. Its great fun ...... you know you want to.

Hi Nick

Ron's site hasn't gone, but he is no longer running the appreciation society, hence the changes to his site.

I have no doubt he will be back with something Steptoe related very soon.

Hi Bob...still working on "The Siege Of Steptoe Street", sorry for the delay, won't be long. I noticed my "My Old Man's A Tory" review vanished from the site and tried to resubmit it but...that option currently aint working. I'd be happy to resubmit "65 Today" too if need be.

I just tried to submit a review and the server is down. Any ideas? Maintenance perhaps?

Hi Guys

The Submit Review page is back. It was a victim of the recent forum hack and I forgot the page was linked to a database.

I need to sort out Yanks, erroneous link and so somewthing about the awful colour scheme on this forum !!!

Please let me know if you spot any other glitches on the site.

Hi Bob

I've submitted my long overdue "Siege of Steptoe Street" review, sorry for the delay!
Any/all criticisms gratefully appreciated!

And I've re-submitted "Sixty-Five Today", just in case :)

(Sun Feb 5 edit: I overlooked a huge grammar blunder in the Siege review.
I'll sort it and resubmit tonite)

(Mon Feb 6) Siege review corrected and re-submitted, no further edits, promise!
