Most sincere condolences to Ray’s family, and his friends.
...And to the many millions of Ray & Alan’s admirers, worldwide.
Paraphrasing here…but in an interview, aging author William S. Burroughs suggested the one
human goal worth striving for, is immortality. Asked how to achieve said immortality, Bill grinned and
replied, "That’s up to you.” There’s no doubting or denying Ray & Alan achieved immortality. Their comedy
alchemy has been and still is a wonderfully profound, and extraordinarily positive influence upon all our lives,
for which we’re all deeply grateful. And though their writing has never been a presupposed equation, I’ve
found that exposing people to Steptoe for the first time is rather like a lab experiment that always has
the same results: within seconds eyes widen, mouths agape followed by huge laughter...at the
revelation really...that television can actually be that funny. Cheers Ray, raising a pint
tonight to celebrate the great good you’ve done, and still do.
Clear weather Ray, and smooth sailing.
Sorely missed, but never forgotten.

Absolutely stunned. RIP Ray, thanks for the laughs. That's all that needs to be said...

Definitely. A real genius is measured by their legacy, and Ray and Alan's will go on forever... but they never got that knighthood. Disgraceful.
