Richard Attenborough

The Right Honorable, Lord Richard Attenborough, CBE, has passed on, age 90.
Traditional accolades aside, Dickie really was brilliant.
Don’t look to the tabloids for anything even remotely resembling his body of work.
Or how he was blacklisted by HUAC, now widely recognized as a criminal organization.
I’ll always remember Mr. Attenborough smiling broadly, as he frequently did, gap in his teeth like Terry-Thomas. Director of cinematic masterpieces like “Shadowlands”, “Gandhi” and “Chaplin”.
Actor in “I’m All Right Jack”, “The Great Escape”, “Elizabeth” and uncounted others.
One of the coolest and most motivated old school artists that ever took a breath, a man that exuded joie de vivre. RIP Richard

A great actor indeed he could play the working man to the toff. From his countless movies - The angry silence and League of gentlemen must be my favourites.

He was a great actor and seemed immortal. Loved the films mentioned plus Brighton Rock , whistle down the wind, 10 Rillington Place although there were so many. He was a one off and we'll never see his like again sadly. RIP Richard. :|
