This was pretty much overlooked on the news but a few days ago Alvin Stardust passed on.

Whether you liked his music or not, everyone knew of him and we all wailed out "coo ca choo" at parties in the 90's Im sure.

Alvin was a hugh star in the 70's

I didn't exist in the 70's, I remember he had a little revival in the 90's, with a few minor hits. I think a number one now is 20'000 copies. Child's play. In those days they had to have real talent and sell a lot!!

So sad to hear of his death last month, but I was also surprised to see that he was resident of St Thomas, Swansea ( Seeing I live here) spending time there with his Welsh wife between his other home in London and how at his request had his funeral in the St Thomas Church where he was married then had his cremation at Morriston crematory in Swansea as he loved the area and people & considered himself an adopted Welshman. A 70s icon, but more importantly a great man. RIP Alvin (Bernard) :|
