I thought we'd nick a wreath off one of the graves as we went in.

Totally gutted to read this news, there's no overestimating his profound influence upon pop music/culture.
Like most of us I grew up listening to some of his albums constantly till the stylus was worn to a nubbin.
Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane*, Pin Ups*, Diamond Dogs*. And his work with Eno; Low*, Heroes, and Lodger.
Then there was Tin Machine. And those classic albums he co-wrote/produced, like Iggy Pop’s The Idiot*.
*all time favorites.
Fair weather David, and clear sailing.

Another icon, of classical music, who passed on recently, Pierre Boulez.
He championed the best of 20th Century and his Ensemble InterContemporain recorded some of the most accurate performances of Edgard Varese’s compositions, I’ve ever heard. Their version of Varese’s operatic “Offrandes” is truly magnificent. RIP.
