It's just been announced that the great children's TV presenter John Noakes has died aged 83yrs after a long and courageous battle with alzheimer's disease.

Famous throughout the 1960s and 70s on our TV screens, he made his first appeared on "Blue Peter" from 1965-78, in spin-off "Go With Noakes" from 1976-1980 along with faithful friend and TV companion, Shep (Born 1971- Died 1987). RIP John. Thanks for the childhood happy memories.

Nice words Uncle Nobby. I loved watching Blue Peter with John presenting as a kid. A sad loss. He has left a legacy. Our happy childhood memories.
