I couldn't resist posting this as this bio of the "dynamic duo" gives a great deal of historical reference from meeting, starting out in Radio, Hancock through to the current "Murder in Oil Drum Lane" play....

It's very concise and only 2 web pages long, very worth a read....

Interesting article; I never knew that Galton & Simpson wrote "Clochermerle" I can faintly remember watching it in my youth :o

That was fifteen minutes well spent. Interesting back story about how they met under such terrible circumstances, and ended up becoming two of the best comedy writers in British history. Thanks for posting.
