Yes! I love Harold's smirk as he mutters 'finders, keepers' after Albert points out the fridge fell off the back off a lorry.
It was a stroke of genius to use them as spokespeople for any kind of cleaning product. I also love when Harold cheerfully touts the various wonders of the Ajax products and then growls to Albert that they need to use both on him. It's said very quickly and I didn't catch it the first time I watched the clip.
By the Ajax days they have moved up in the world with their indoor bath and khazi, the final step in their skyward climb is the Kenco Coffee advert where they're in a penthouse with a lovely art collection!
I'm sure the Thatcher years would have buggered them up as well as they did to the rest of the country!! I always got the impression Harold was lying about them in the advert, and that was the whole point.
My favourite in-joke in the Ajax ads is when Albert says "That ugly Maureen bird" and Harold says "She's not ugly"... Maureen was of course the name of Harry's wife, who I believe was on set at the time. No doubt a good natured ribbing from Wilfrid (who got along with Maureen really well by all accounts". Harry's "she's not ugly" is brilliant!
P.S. Getting back to the original thread, I think the tins of snails were for the Bear. After all, he grew and grew, he was eating something.
