Albert’s Choppers

Postby bob » Thu Sep 21, 2006 10:30 pm

Has anybody ever noticed that whenever there was footage filmed outside the TV studio, Albert always has lovely clean white teeth, of course back in the TV studio they are the usual grotty ones we come to expect.

It can be understood that on the first occasion when they filmed outside they may not have realised the impact this would have, but they always seemed to let Wilfred keep his own teeth in for outside work, even though it is so noticeable and a little off putting.

What was the reasoning behind this I wonder? Was it just poor continuity on behalf of the BBC, or did Wilfred have some objection to being filmed outside without his immaculate white dentures ?

Remember in reality Wilfred Bramble was immaculate in his dress sense - a total contrast to the character he was famous for. So I can understand his need to switch over his 'choppers'. Plus, they had a drawer full of them.

Hello Phil

You hit the nail on the head, I got a reply from Tessa LeBars a little while back and she confirmed you suspicion, or as you put it in a previous posting " The BBC are a bunch of cowboys" !!

Check out W's teeth in A Death in the Family S5E1.
Perfect pearly white.

H's look different too.

Perhaps they both got new teeth for the new series!
