Hi Nobby! As Steptoe fans, some might think us predisposed to like Susannah’s book, but it really is good innit :o.
I mentioned Robert Ross, haven't read his Steptoe book yet but his 2011 Marty Feldman biography is recommended.
Always been partial to biographies, autobiographies. If you enjoy bios too, here's some excellent titles to look for.
I was very fortunate to find these cloth volumes recently at our local charity shop...
George Carlin: Last Words” (2009). Published posthumously, compiled from audio tapes by George’s mate Tony Hendra. None of George's best selling LP’s or HBO specials conveyed the acuity of his mind better than this book. The world is a much poorer place for George’s absence, an incredibly funny, intelligent and thoroughly nice guy.
A Talent For Genius: The Life and Times of Oscar Levant" (1994, Sam Kashner & Nancy Schoenberger).
Charles Bukowski” (2005, Barry Miles).
