Happy 100th birthday Willy, you'll never be forgotten!!
Your Albert remains one of the finest and funniest characterizations ever.
Thanks ever so much for the laughs & tears.
Tears to my abdomen, nearly ruptured myself laughing, watching Steptoe for the first time :)

Wilfrid was a remarkable straight dramatic actor too... his repertoire of Shakespeare on the stage is remarkable. Unfortunately on TV he seemed drawn to the quirkier roles. He also had phenomenal west end success in the musical "The Canterbury Tales". A brilliant performer. Missed by all of us.

Harold Steptoe: Ah, you recognize it! Takes you back to your lecherous youth, does it?

You're worse than a fly 'round a cow's arsehole.

Happy Birthday Wilfrid, our favorite silent porn star 8). With the Ajax adverts such a success, the Dairy Council missed a trick there. They could’ve had Albert doing milk endorsements :o.
