H, just heard the news that the hammer actress Barbara Shelley has passed away, sad loss as a real star in those films. RIP

Thanks for letting us know Tony…88 might be good innings but not nearly enough
for a brilliant actress/icon like Barbara Shelley. I only know her from the Hammer
films, most of which I’ve happily got at home…including ”The Gorgon” (1964),
“Dracula, Prince of Darkness” (1966), “Rasputin, the Mad Monk” (1966),
and “Quatermass and the Pit” (1967), each and all very highly recommended
viewing. With the exception of The Gorgon, all these DVD’s have commentary
tracks featuring mostly Shelley & among other people, Christopher Lee. When
Shelley described her scream as sounding like a sea lion (which explained why
Suzan Farmer looped her screams in Prince of Darkness), Christopher couldn’t
contain his laughter, bless. Rest in peace Barbara, should you choose to do so.
And cheers, not just for your exemplary acting, but also for your indefatigable
sense of humour :o.
