This episode has the honour of being the most watched in our household.

The reason. My eleven year old daughter absolutely loves it and so do I.

It made me realise just how timeless Steptoe and Son is, the fact that a comedy made in black and white over forty five years ago can still entertain and delight children of today is quite amazing really.

I gain enormous enjoyment and pleasure from just watching her watch and love the series, this episode in particular as it's her favourite along with Upstairs, Downstairs, Upstairs, Downstairs.

Steptoe and Son | A Musical Evening

The day she first saw it she almost stopped breathing through laughing at Harold throwing things through the window and the old man smashing Harold's records with his hammer, and the brilliant line, "Oh God. what have I put my hand in?" still tickles her every time she has it on.

Harry H, Corbett and Wilfrid Brambell as Steptoe and Son
It made me realise through her reaction to this fantastic episode that this series will never fade and die because it's just as relevant today as it was back then and that true genius comedy is immortal.

If you have'nt already done so let your kids watch Steptoe and Son, you will be in for a great treat by seeing the show afresh through their young eyes.

It's magic.............
